Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) coach Brian Lara has praised T Natarajan’s comeback performance after a lengthy injury layoff. Despite an expensive first over where he conceded 17 runs, Natarajan bounced back strongly to bag the wickets of Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag and conceded only six runs in his next two overs.
Lara commended Natarajan’s performance, saying, “I was very, very impressed with Natarajan’s comeback.” He also credited the SRH bowlers for restricting Rajasthan Royals to 203/5 after they were on course to score over 220 runs.
However, the Sunrisers Hyderabad were thrashed by 72 runs in their IPL 2023 opener by the Rajasthan Royals, who put up an all-round display. Lara attributed the defeat to the team’s poor performance in both powerplays. “We lost the first powerplay with the ball in our hands.
Lara highlighted that the loss of two wickets in the first over while chasing over 200 runs was a setback for the team. Despite suffering a devastating defeat, he stated that the team is aware of its current position and remains optimistic about bouncing back in the upcoming matches as it is just the beginning of the tournament.
