Maharashtra reported 149 fresh coronavirus cases and no new Covid-related deaths. The state’s overall tally of Covid cases is 81,68,096, and the death toll remained at 1,48,541. Mumbai recorded 48 new cases, and the state’s active caseload was 1,210. The dominant variant of Covid-19 in the state is Omicron XBB.1.16, responsible for 1,241 cases and 13 deaths.
Delhi reported 43 new Covid cases with a positivity rate of 1.8%. No Covid-related deaths were reported. Delhi’s total Covid case tally was 20,40,347, and the death toll stood at 26,649. The previous day, Delhi recorded 75 new cases with a positivity rate of 3.43% and one Covid-related fatality. The number of active cases in Delhi was 441, with 341 patients in home isolation.
