The theme for United Nations Day 2024 is “Global Unity and Sustainable Development”, This year marks the 25th anniversary of the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption of the Declaration and Programme International human rights organisation Chairman Dr. Nem Singh Premi and Vice Chairman of International organisation Dr. Mohd. International human rights organisation International Director Dr.P.Vishwanath Rao feels that about the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
To him(SDGs) embody the strategic vision and aspirations of all countries for the future of development. South Asian countries namely Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka urgently need to accelerate action on SDGs implementation.
According to him –
The South and South-West Asia Network on the Sustainable Development Goals (SANS) has been developed to foster subregional cooperation by sharing good practices towards achievement of the SDGs amongst the government agencies, think-tanks, CSOs and other stakeholders in South Asia to build back better.
