The Global Telangana Association (GTA) recently held its General Body meeting in Detroit, USA, where the organization elected Praveen Kesireddy as its President and Vishveshwar Kalavala as the Chairman. With the primary goal of uniting people who uphold the ethos of the Telangana region, its culture, and traditions, the GTA aims to bring together individuals of Telangana origin from around the world.

Praveen Kesireddy, an entrepreneur hailing from Detroit, expressed the association’s commitment to uniting Telangana NRIs (Non-Resident Indians) and leveraging their collective strength. He acknowledged the instrumental role played by Telangana NRIs in the Telangana movement, which sought to establish a separate state of Telangana within India. Through their active involvement, Telangana NRIs contributed to the movement’s success by engaging in debates, discussions, and debunking false claims made by those opposing the formation of the new state.

Telangana, a region in southern India, had long aspired for separate statehood due to its distinctive culture, language, and historical significance. After years of agitation and political mobilization, Telangana was granted statehood in 2014, becoming the 29th state of India. The Telangana movement witnessed widespread support from Telangana NRIs, who actively participated in various forums and advocated for the cause on an international scale.

The establishment of the GTA marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to unite Telangana NRIs worldwide. The association aims to serve as a platform for fostering cultural exchange, preserving Telangana’s heritage, and promoting social welfare initiatives within the Telangana community. By bringing together individuals with a shared cultural background, the GTA seeks to create a strong and cohesive global network of Telangana residents and diaspora.

One of the key focus areas for the GTA is to leverage the expertise, resources, and influence of Telangana NRIs for the development and progress of Telangana. The association intends to channel their collective strength towards initiatives that drive social and economic growth in the region. This includes supporting educational initiatives, promoting entrepreneurship, and fostering collaborations between Telangana NRIs and local businesses in Telangana.

Additionally, the GTA aspires to enhance the global visibility of Telangana and create opportunities for cultural exchange and engagement. By organizing cultural events, exhibitions, and festivals, the association aims to showcase Telangana’s rich heritage, traditions, and arts to a wider audience. These initiatives not only strengthen the bonds within the Telangana community but also help in fostering greater appreciation and understanding of Telangana’s unique cultural identity among people from diverse backgrounds.

Furthermore, the GTA recognizes the importance of social welfare and community service. The association is committed to addressing social issues and extending support to vulnerable sections of society. Through philanthropic initiatives and partnerships with local organizations, the GTA aims to contribute to the overall welfare and upliftment of Telangana communities, both within and outside of India.

As President and Chairman, Praveen Kesireddy and Vishveshwar Kalavala will lead the GTA in its endeavors to unite Telangana NRIs, promote Telangana’s cultural heritage, and drive socio-economic development in the region. With their leadership and the collective efforts of Telangana NRIs, the GTA is poised to make a significant impact on the Telangana community and contribute to the progress of Telangana as a whole.

The newly launched Global Telangana Association (GTA) under the leadership of President Praveen Kesireddy and Chairman Vishveshwar Kalavala aims to unite individuals of Telangana origin worldwide, uphold Telangana’s culture and traditions, and leverage the collective strength of Telangana NRIs for the progress and development of the region. Through its various initiatives in cultural exchange, social welfare, and economic empowerment, the GTA seeks to create a vibrant global network of Telangana residents and diaspora, fostering a sense of unity and pride among the Telangana community.
