Aasha, the cheetah named by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has reached Madhav National Park in Shivpuri district after straying from Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, Oban, the other cheetah released in Kuno National Park, remains within the park boundaries.

A forest team attempting to locate Aasha faced a violent attack by villagers in Burakheda, who mistook them for dacoits. Two forest guards were injured in the attack. The forest department has lodged an FIR against the attackers and replaced the team with new guards. The new guards quickly informed headquarters about Aasha’s entry into Madhav National Park.

Notably, Madhav National Park is home to three tigers released as part of a reintroduction project by the forest department. Given the presence of rival predators such as leopards and hyenas, the forest department closely monitors Aasha’s movements.

Oban, the cheetah that strayed from Kuno on April 2, was tranquilized and brought back to the park after a five-day adventure. During this time, Oban explored various locations, including nearby villages.
