An analysis of the election affidavits of candidates by DAKSH in association with Bangalore Political Action Committee (B.PAC) has revealed that 33% of the contestants in Bengaluru, a total of 38 out of 115 candidates, have criminal cases against them. The cases registered against these candidates include attempts to murder, cheating, corruption, money laundering, and rioting, among others. While some of these cases are at the stage of investigation, most are pending before the courts. The BJP has the highest number of candidates with criminal cases (11), followed by the Congress (10), AAP (9), and JDS (5).
