Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, held bilateral talks in Sydney, where they discussed the recent attacks on temples and the activities of separatist elements in Australia. Following the meeting, they conducted a joint press briefing to address the outcomes of their discussions.

PM Modi made it clear that India would not tolerate any individuals or groups that could jeopardize the strong relations between India and Australia through their actions or thoughts. He highlighted the previous discussions on temple attacks and separatist activities with PM Albanese and expressed satisfaction with the assurance of strict action against such elements in the future.

“We have previously discussed the issue of temple attacks and separatist elements with PM Anthony Albanese, and today we continued our discussions. We will not accept any elements that harm the friendly ties between India and Australia, whether through actions or thoughts. PM Albanese once again assured me today of taking strict actions against such elements in the future,” stated PM Modi.

The bilateral talks aimed to address various aspects of the India-Australia relationship, including trade, defense cooperation, and regional security. The issue of temple attacks and separatist activities held particular significance as it directly affected the sentiments and well-being of the Indian community in Australia.

Both leaders demonstrated their commitment to combatting such incidents and protecting the interests of their citizens. Their shared values of democracy, tolerance, and respect for religious freedom formed the foundation of the bilateral relationship. By addressing these challenges directly and reaffirming their determination to maintain strong ties, they exemplified their dedication to fostering a harmonious and mutually beneficial partnership.
