Two passengers on IndiGo flight Arrested for Drinking Onboard.

While the Indigo flight was on board, two passengers were caught drinking alcohol in the flight to Patna from Delhi . The accused were arrested since drinking is prohibited in the domestic flights.

Details of the case.

Two passengers identified as Rohit and Nitish were in the flight of Delhi -Patna, when the cabin crew caught both of them drinking alcohol. The two of them took alcohol in disguise and tried to consume it on their way to Patna. Due to the foul smell of alcohol, other passengers complained it to the crew which finally led to catching them.

The two of them gave their apologies in writing after getting caught. But according to the airlines protocols and policy, they informed about this case to Air traffic controller . After which both of them were arrested. The CISF( Central industrial security force). The duration of the flight was 80 minutes.

There was no any ruckus caused though. “The CISF after taking them into their custody, handed both of them over to the airport police. The airport police took their breathing analysis test which revealed that the two were confirmed to be drunk” said Jitendra Singh Gangwar , ADG (Additional director general) Bihar Police.

Later in a tweet, the Indigo stated” With reference to the incident that took place onboard 6E 6383 from Delhi to Patna , the matter is under investigation with the authorities. We would like to clarify that there was no altercation onboard the aircraft, as what is being reported in some sections of social media.

Prior to this, on 26 November, a person was arrested for urinating on a co-passenger in business class on the Air India flight from New York to Delhi .

The woman made the complaint after which the case was taken into the hand by the police. Airline regulator DGCA has sought a report from Air India on the incident.
