Stones From Nepal Reach Ayodhya

The two Shaligram stones that were sent from Nepal for the Ram Temple in to Ayodhya reached their destination .The Shaligram stones are non anthropomorphic representations of lord Vishnu in Hindu religion.

The holy stones that were sent to Ayodhya were welcomed at the Hindu god lord Ram’s birthplace by the priests and locals who decorated the boulders with garlands . They offered rituals before handling over them to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Keshtra trust.

The boulders are expected to be used for the construction of idols of Ram and Janaki. They will be placed in the main temple complex of the under construction Ram Mandir.

The Shaligrams are found only on the riverbanks of Kali Gandaki river . This river flows through Myagdi and Mustang districts. They reached Ayodhya on heavy duty trucks from Nepal’s Janakpur. Janakpur is the birthplace of Sita.

The Shaligrams reached Gorakhpur on Wednesday. The devotees could offer their prayers to the stones . The general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth ksehtra, Champat Rai stated,” There is a waterfall named Kali Gandaki in Nepal. It originates from Damodar Kund and it is around 85 km north of Ganeshwar Dham Gandaki. They have brought these boulders there.

About the place.

The place is situated at a height of 6000 feet above sea level. People even say that it is crores of years old . The two boulders weigh around 30 tonnes and 14-15 tonnes. Bimalendra Nidhi , Nepali congress leader and former deputy Prime Minister, hails from Janakpur , the birthplace of Sita, coordinated with the Janaki temple which sent the two stones from the Kali Gandaki river where Shaligrams are found in abundance.

Stone convoys travelled through Pipraun Girjasthan of Madhubani, Bihar, which holds religious significance will make the night stops at two places.
