Bollywood superstar Salman Khan visited Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at her residence in Kolkata on Saturday. The meeting between the two was preceded by a photo session, during which the Chief Minister offered the actor a shawl.
Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan had earlier tweeted about Khan’s arrival in Kolkata, stating that the actor would be performing at a mega show at the East Bengal Ground after the meeting.
Salman Khan, who has been the target of death threats in the past, is in Kolkata for his ‘Da-Bangg The Tour Reloaded’ event, scheduled to take place at the East Bengal Club.
The event, which will feature performances by Prabhudeva, Pooja Hegde, Guru Randhawa, Maniesh Paul, Sonakshi Sinha, and Jacqueline Fernandez, has ticket prices ranging from Rs 699 to Rs 40,000. Lounge access to the event will cost between Rs 2-3 lakhs.
The Mumbai Police recently issued a lookout circular against a third-year medical student from Haryana, who is studying in the UK, for sending threatening emails to Khan in March. The emails were sent in the name of gangster Goldy Brar, who is also accused of the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala last year.
