Remembering Rajiv Gandhi: Congress Leaders Pay Homage on Death Anniversary

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and members of the Gandhi family paid homage to former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary in New Delhi.

Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with other party leaders, paid their tributes at Veer Bhumi, Rajiv Gandhi’s memorial.

Cong leaders hail Rajiv Gandhi as ‘Great Son of India’ on death anniversary

Rahul Gandhi shared a video of his father on Twitter, stating, “Papa, you are with me, as an inspiration, in memories, always.”

Kharge, among the first to pay homage, shared a video on Rajiv Gandhi’s life on Twitter, praising his contributions to India’s progress.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh mentioned Rajiv Gandhi’s finalization of the party’s manifesto for the 1991 Lok Sabha elections, which Dr. Manmohan Singh often referred to during economic reforms.

Ramesh also highlighted Rajiv Gandhi’s distinctive contributions in the IT sector and his efforts to grant constitutional status to local governing bodies.

Indian Youth Congress organized blood donation camps nationwide, with 400 units of blood donated in Delhi.

Rajiv Gandhi, India’s prime minister from 1984 to 1989, was assassinated by LTTE terrorists during an election campaign in 1991.
