Rahul Gandhi, a Congress leader, took a truck ride on Monday night from Ambala in Haryana to Chandigarh. The incident was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media.
Twitter users claiming to be Congress workers stated that Gandhi rode in the truck to understand the issues faced by overnight heavy vehicle drivers.
Videos posted by Congress workers showed Rahul Gandhi at a truck stop near Ambala. Sources within the Congress party confirmed that the video was from the previous night. Although there was no official program, Gandhi seems to be heading to Shimla, where Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is with her family.
A Congress MP tweeted, “Only Rahul Gandhi can reach out to truck drivers to know their problems while riding a truck on NH1.”
Another Congress leader, Supriya Shrinate, mentioned that Gandhi wants to listen to the voice of the nation and understand the problems and struggles faced by the people.
Gandhi’s truck journey has gained attention and appreciation from supporters for his efforts to connect with different segments of society and empathize with their challenges.
