Rahul Gandhi, the former member of parliament (MP) of the Indian National Congress, was convicted in a criminal defamation case over his remark about the Modi surname and subsequently disqualified as a member of the Lok Sabha from Wayanad.
The Congress party has condemned the decision and accused the ruling party of trying to stifle democracy by silencing opposition leaders and calls it a Black Day for Indian Democracy.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on the other hand, has claimed that Mr. Rahul Gandhi’s comment was an insult to Other Backward Classes (OBC) and that the law was equal for everyone. Rahul Gandhi has pledged to continue fighting for the voice of India despite the disqualification.
Rahul Gandhi further stated that he is fighting for India’s voice. Congress Party declares a statewide movement and accuses the governing party of attempting to suppress him and other Opposition leaders.
