Villagers in Jhajjar, Haryana, are protesting the allocation of a 4-acre plot of land to Bajrang Punia for a wrestling academy. They claim the land was given to Punia illegally and accuse the Panchayat committee of involvement. They question why Punia was favored over other accomplished wrestlers in the village.

Allegations extend to the Panchayat secretary, who represents the state government, suggesting their complicity in the illegal land allotment. The villagers demand a prompt investigation and set a deadline of 5 to 7 days. They intend to approach Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar and, if needed, take the case to the High Court or Supreme Court to stop the academy’s construction.

During a meeting on an unrelated matter, a gram panchayat member refused to sign a document facilitating the land allotment upon reading its contents. This highlights an attempt to push through the decision without proper scrutiny.

However, the representative who proposed the land allocation defends the decision, stating that Punia requested land for a wrestling academy. The proposal received support from senior panchayat members who were satisfied. The representative emphasizes the benefits of free coaching for village children.

The revolt is driven by the fact that the land belongs to the SC community, traditionally used for agriculture. They argue that their families depend on the land and will strongly oppose any attempt to take it away.

The situation remains tense as both sides present their arguments. The villagers demand transparency and fairness, while the gram panchayat highlights the community benefits. Resolution depends on the investigation’s completion and subsequent legal actions.
