India may have already surpassed China to become the most populous country in the world. This has been anticipated earlier by the analysts .

Details .

China’s population has shrunk for the first time since 1961. The National Birth Rate hit a record low at – 6.77 births per 1000 people. The population of India in 2022 was 1.4118 billion. This fell by 8,50,000 from 2021. There has been a noticeable decreasing trend in the china’s population. According to the presentation of the world population review ( WPR) the population of India was 141.7 crore during the end of 2022. This figure was than little greater than 50 lakhs than the population of China.

China’s whole One Child Policy kept the birth rates in control till 2016 .But the working population could be seen shrinking .

The drastic fall that took place was the first time that happened in 60 years after a steady and years – long decline in the Birth Rate. The population of the mainland China declined by 8,50,000 people in 2022 to 1.41 billions. This figure was after excluding the foreigners. Due to the implied One Child Policy , as fewer people are born and more people are getting older, there will be days when the country will not have a sufficient number of youth.

The most recent population figure for India was 142.8 crore . This was according to the different estimates from the researches. India is currently self sufficient in the food production. It has a really good rank in the production of rice, sugar, wheat . It ranks as the second in its production.

The growth of the China’s economy fell to the second lowest in the five decades. Also according to the report by the world population prospects 2022 by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, population division, India is projected to surpass china as the world’s most populous country by 2023.
