Honda makes a strong comeback in the SUV market with the global unveiling of the Elevate SUV in New Delhi. The Elevate shares similarities in dimensions with the Hyundai Creta, boasting a length of 4,312mm, width of 1,790mm, height of 1,650mm, and a segment-leading ground clearance of 220mm.
Featuring a bold design inspired by the overseas CR-V, the Elevate showcases a large grille, LED headlights, and flared wheel arches with thick plastic cladding. The interior offers a range of modern features, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster. Safety is prioritized with the inclusion of Honda’s advanced Sensing ADAS suite.
Built on Honda’s Global Small Car platform, the Elevate is powered by a 121hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine, with the option of a 6-speed manual or CVT transmission. In the future, Honda plans to introduce an electric powertrain for the Elevate.
Competing in the midsize SUV segment, the Elevate faces tough rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, and others. Honda’s re-entry into the SUV market aims to expand its lineup and market presence. Pricing details will be announced soon.
Manufactured in India, the Elevate will also be exported to international markets, further expanding Honda’s global reach. Overall, the Elevate SUV demonstrates Honda’s commitment to meeting customer demands and staying competitive in the SUV market.
