Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been sent to four days’ custody of the Delhi Police’s Special Cell in an illegal arms supply case. The court ordered this after the Delhi Police sought Bishnoi’s custodial interrogation regarding the recovery of 25 pistols from arms trafficker Mukund Singh. Singh supplied weapons to the Lawrence Bishnoi-Kala Jathedi gang.
The police argued that they need to interrogate Bishnoi to identify his gang members, who were intended recipients of the recovered arms and ammunition. They also want to uncover the gang’s conspiracy to eliminate rivals and others. Bishnoi needs to be confronted with Singh, who is already in custody for this case, according to the Delhi Police.
This arrest highlights the authorities’ efforts to curb illegal arms trafficking and dismantle criminal networks. Apprehending key individuals like Bishnoi and Singh disrupts the supply chains of illegal weapons and prevents their misuse. The case emphasizes the ongoing challenges posed by organized crime and the need for collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies. The custodial interrogation of Lawrence Bishnoi is expected to provide crucial leads for dismantling the gang and ensuring public safety.
