Earthquake Felt in Delhi and Adjoining Areas.

An earthquake shivers were felt in elhi and its adjoining areas for the second time in a week when a magnitude of 5.9 Earthquake struck in Afghanistan’s Fayzabad . Earlier on January 1 , an earthquake of magnitude 3.8 hit Delhi and its surrounding parts at approximate 1:00 pm. The earthquake struck in Afghanistan on Thursday . It was felt in the Hindu Kush region at around 8:00pm. the epicenter was 79 kms south of Fayzabad in Afghanistan at a depth of 200km.

” earthquake of magnitude :5.9, occurred on 05-01-2023, 19:55:51 IST, Lat: 36.39 and long. : 70.66, depth : 200 km, location : 79 kms of Fayzabad ,Afghanistan” said National center for Seismology (NCS), the nodal agency of the government of India for monitoring of earthquake activity in the country . no immediate report of any injury to anyone or damage to any property.

Tremors were also felt in the parts of Afghanistan, Pakistan and northern India, including Jammu and Kashmir.

an earthquake of 3.8 magnitude was recorded in Haryana’s Jhajjar with tremors in Delhi. ” Jhajjar was the epicenter of the earthquake and its depth was 5 km below the ground,” National Center for Seismology said in a statement.
