Chennai Super Kings’ star batter Ruturaj Gaikwad married his long-time girlfriend Utkarsha Pawar in a private ceremony in Mahabaleshwar on June 3. The couple shared pictures of the event on Gaikwad’s Instagram page, and fans sent their congratulations.
Gaikwad, who recently won his second IPL title with CSK, introduced Utkarsha Pawar during the team’s celebration on May 29. They posed with the IPL trophy and CSK captain MS Dhoni, capturing fans’ and media’s attention.
Utkarsha Pawar, a professional cricketer from Pune, plays for Maharashtra in domestic cricket. Gaikwad posted photos of the ceremony on Instagram, saying, “From the pitch to the altar, our journey begins!”
CSK teammate Shivam Dube and his wife Anjum Khan attended the wedding. CSK also shared a picture of their star players and their partners on Twitter.
Gaikwad played a crucial role in CSK’s fifth IPL title victory. He won the Orange Cap in IPL 2021 and was the team’s top run-scorer in the 2022 edition. In IPL 2023, he scored 590 runs in 15 innings, averaging 42.14 with a strike rate of 147.50 and hitting four fifties.
Initially selected as a reserve opener for India’s World Test Championship final against Australia, Gaikwad had to withdraw due to his wedding. The management replaced him with Yashasvi Jaiswal, the Emerging Player of the Season in IPL 2023.
