Couple Saves Lives in Turkey and Syria Earthquake, But Children Die

On a sunny day in October, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey and Syria. It was the strongest earthquake to hit the region in decades. As the ground shook, homes and buildings crumbled to the ground, leaving many people trapped and injured beneath the rubble.

A couple living in the area, both from Turkey and Syria, worked together to save as many lives as they could. Despite the danger that they faced, they used their courage and strength to dig through the rubble and pull people out alive. In total, they managed to save more than 12 people from the earthquake’s destruction. Sadly, in the chaos of the earthquake, some children were not able to be saved. The couple did their best to rescue as many children as possible, but the destruction was too great. For every life that was saved, there were others that were lost.

The couple’s heroic act of bravery has been praised by many in the region. Their selfless effort to save lives has been an example of hope and courage in the face of tragedy.
