Congress Invites Leaders From 20 Parties For Siddaramaiah’s Oath-Taking Ceremony

Congress leader Siddaramaiah has been announced as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka, with DK Shivakumar of Karnataka Congress appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister. The Congress party has extended invitations to approximately 20 parties to attend the upcoming Swearing-In ceremony. However, some parties have been left out, with invitations limited to those parties with whom Congress could potentially form alliances in the future.

The invited parties for Siddaramaiah’s Swearing-In ceremony include the National Conference, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party, Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Lok Dal, Janata Dal (United), Rashtriya Janata Dal, Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist), CPM (Bengal and Tripura), CPI (Bengal), Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, Kerala Congress, Indian Union Muslim League, and Revolutionary Socialist Party of Kerala.

On the other hand, the parties not invited to the ceremony include the Aam Aadmi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, Biju Janata Dal, Bharat Rashtra Samithi, All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen, Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress, Telugu Desam Party, All India United Democratic Front, and Janata Dal (Secular).

Although Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar are expected to attend the ceremony, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will not be present. Instead, TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar will attend the Swearing-In ceremony on Mamata’s behalf.
