Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed his anticipation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, highlighting his eagerness to celebrate Australia’s vibrant Indian community alongside him. Reflecting on his visit to India earlier this year, Albanese expressed his honor in welcoming his Indian counterpart for an official visit. He emphasized the partnership and shared commitment between the two nations toward a stable, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific. The Australian PM noted the close friendship and partnership between their countries, stating that the relationship has never been stronger.
Albanese stated, “I am honored to host Prime Minister Modi for an official visit to Australia, after receiving an extremely warm welcome in India earlier this year. Australia and India share a commitment to a stable, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific. Together, we have an important role to play in supporting this vision. During his six-day visit to Japan, Papua New Guinea, and Australia, which includes participation in the Group of Seven (G7) summit, PM Modi will conclude his trip in Australia. In Sydney, he will engage in a bilateral meeting with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
Previously, PM Modi was scheduled to attend the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Sydney. However, Australian PM Albanese announced the cancellation of the summit following the US President’s decision to postpone his trip to Australia, as he focused on the debt ceiling negotiations in Washington.
