The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to embark on a month-long outreach campaign to commemorate the ninth anniversary of its government at the Centre, in preparation for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. According to a report by PTI, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a public rally, while senior party members will conduct 51 public meetings. The campaign is expected to commence on May 30, the day Modi assumed office for his second term as Prime Minister, and will continue until June 30.

During the outreach program, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states will engage with the media on May 29 to highlight the government’s achievements over the past nine years. Union ministers, on the other hand, will address the media in states where the BJP is not in power.

Additionally, the party aims to connect with 250 prominent families in each Lok Sabha constituency and hold meetings with various segments of society, including intellectuals, social media influencers, and traders. This initiative takes place one year ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, where the BJP seeks Modi’s re-election as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term—a milestone previously accomplished only by India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.

Although the report does not mention any program regarding the inauguration of the new Parliament building during the outreach campaign, sources have indicated that Modi is likely to inaugurate the new facility by the end of this month. This coincides with the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) completion of nine years in power.

The renovation of the three-kilometer stretch from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate, the construction of a common central secretariat, a new office and residence for the Prime Minister, and a new enclave for the Vice-President are among the projects being carried out by the Central Public Works Department under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
