Russia has blamed the deaths of at least 89 soldiers in a missile attack on the use of mobile phones by troops, who were supposedly using them in violation of a ban. The attack, which occurred in the Makiivka area of Ukraine, was carried out using a US-made Himars rocket system and resulted in the deaths of at least 89 soldiers, according to Russia. The country has stated that it will conduct an investigation and bring any officials found responsible to justice. However, there are conflicting accounts of the attack and its causes.

It is not uncommon for militaries to ban the use of mobile phones by soldiers while they are on duty, as they can be used to track the location of troops and potentially reveal sensitive information. In this case, Russia has claimed that the use of mobile phones by troops in the Makiivka area of Ukraine allowed the enemy to locate and attack them with missiles, resulting in the deaths of at least 89 soldiers. The attack is said to have been carried out using a US-made Himars rocket system, and Russia has stated that it will investigate the incident and bring any officials found responsible to justice. However, there are differing accounts of the attack and its causes, and it is not clear at this time what truly occurred.
