Rama Murthy, a respected police officer, and his mother, P.S. Uma Rani, a nurturing homemaker. Early Life and Education

Dr. Ajay Prakash’s academic voyage commenced under the tutelage of luminaries in the scientific realm. At the esteemed Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India, he embarked on groundbreaking research under the mentorship of Professor Anjali A. Karande. Delving into the intricate mechanisms of P53 expression in head and neck cancer, his work unfurled new vistas in biochemistry.

Simultaneously, Dr. Prakash honed his expertise in DNA fingerprinting at the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), guided by Dr. GV Rao. Leveraging advanced techniques such as PCR and SSCP, he unravelled the mysteries of DNA profiles in human dental pulp, illuminating critical facets like amelogenin gene expressions and HLA DQ a gene expressions, with profound implications in molecular biology.

Career

In 2001, Dr. Ajay Prakash embarked on his academic odyssey as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dentistry, Division of Oral Pathology/Microbiology at K.G.F University of Dental Sciences, affiliated with Bangalore University. Subsequently, he ascended to the position of Reader at Kamineni Institute of Dental Sciences, Narketpally, affiliated with Dr. Y.S.R. Medical University, Vijayawada, India, specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.

During his tenure, Dr. Prakash spearheaded groundbreaking research initiatives, including investigations into the effects of heat on extracted teeth from a forensic perspective and a comparative immunohistochemical analysis of Langerhans cells in head and neck squamous cell carcinomas. His relentless pursuit of excellence earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious 1st Best Scientific Paper Award in Amelogenin Gene at the 9th National Conference of Indian Academy of Oral Pathologists in December 2000 and the esteemed Dr. RM Mathur Best Publication Award for his seminal work in HLADQ€ a Gene Marker for Human Identification.
