In a recent letter addressed to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, senior Congress leader Ponnam Prabhakar raised concerns over the unfulfilled promises made by the Chief Minister to the employees of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC). Prabhakar questioned the rationale behind the failure to keep these promises and expressed his sympathies for the suffering endured by the RTC employees.

The letter highlighted several commitments made by Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao to the RTC employees in the past. These commitments included allocating ₹1,000 crore annually to the organization, personally overseeing its functioning, conducting monthly meetings with employees, implementing special arrangements for women employees, and providing a ₹1 lakh bonus. However, Prabhakar pointed out that these promises have seemingly been forgotten, and the RTC employees continue to bear the brunt of this neglect.

The failure to release the promised ₹1,000 crore each year has hindered the financial stability and growth of the TSRTC. The organization has faced significant challenges, including a shortage of funds for maintenance and fleet expansion. The absence of proper financial support has impacted the efficiency and overall functioning of the corporation. Prabhakar’s letter questioned the reasons behind this neglect and urged the Chief Minister to take immediate action to rectify the situation.

Furthermore, Prabhakar emphasized the importance of the Chief Minister personally supervising the functioning of the organization. Regular interactions between the Chief Minister and the employees were promised to ensure transparency, address concerns, and identify areas for improvement. However, Prabhakar expressed disappointment at the lack of such interactions, which has resulted in a sense of detachment and unaddressed grievances among the employees.

The senior Congress leader also highlighted the need for special arrangements for women employees within the RTC. These arrangements were promised to ensure the safety, security, and welfare of female staff members. However, the implementation of such provisions has remained elusive, putting the well-being of women employees at risk. Prabhakar’s letter called for immediate action to fulfill these promises and create a conducive working environment for women within the organization.

Lastly, the letter raised concerns about the non-fulfillment of the promise to provide a ₹1 lakh bonus to the RTC employees. This bonus was expected to provide financial relief to the employees and recognize their contributions to the organization. However, the delay and subsequent non-implementation of this commitment have further added to the struggles faced by the employees, many of whom have been working tirelessly throughout the challenging times brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Senior Congress leader Ponnam Prabhakar’s letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao highlighted the unfulfilled promises made to the RTC employees. It questioned the rationale behind the neglect of these commitments and expressed concern for the suffering endured by the employees. The letter called for immediate action to address these issues, including the allocation of the promised funds, personal supervision by the Chief Minister, special arrangements for women employees, and the provision of the promised bonus. Prabhakar’s plea sought to emphasize the importance of fulfilling these promises and ensuring the well-being and dignity of the RTC employees.
