A tragic incident occurred in West Delhi’s Vikaspuri where a nine-year-old boy died allegedly after being trapped inside a lift.
The boy’s mother, who irons clothes in the Vikaspuri locality, said that she did not realize when her son entered the lift.
She had gone up to collect clothes from the building through the stairs, and a few minutes later, she saw her son trapped between the doors of the building’s lift.
The mother expressed her regret for not realizing that her son followed her to the building.
The father alleged that the lift was several years old and had experienced technical issues in the past.
The police have lodged a case against unknown persons under IPC sections 287 and 304A and are currently investigating the matter.
The mechanical inspection of the lift is underway, and the police are looking into the allegations.
